I saw a film recently and the lady said “I love you” but I am “in love with somebody else”. She left the guy she loved and marry the guy she was in love with. This statement got me thinking.

I think there is no different between these 2 statements. This is just an example of how English language can cause confusion. I think but statement means same. What do you think?

I will think you will need to love somebody 1st before it can develop into falling in love with somebody. This i belive should be the stages of love. Nowaday we just omit that 1st step of loving somebody 1st and we just thought we can fall in love just like that. I call that lust, some ppl call it love at 1st sight.

Although the two statements might sound or have similar meanings but i believe to the sender / receiver of the message they mean two different things. Saying you love someone can just be interpreted as an expression of one's present state of mind depending on the circumstances surrounding the relationship. But being in love with someone is the expression of one's continual love for the person. Unconditional love. I think, if you get my drift.

i totally agree with mussy. I love my bro and sis. I love my friend. When u say u are in love with somebody, then it means a deeper feelings. it just more that the love i share with everybody. it means i want to be in that persons life. again i agree with Mussy
